I'm back!

It's been a while since I have updated my blog and social media accounts, although I have been working on commissioned pieces, I took a bit of a break from actively promoting my work towards the end of what was a bit of a difficult year for various reasons.  However, I'm pleased to say that after a restful Christmas and New Year, then a very positive January helping out with the Veganuary campaign, I'm back and ready to go full steam ahead!

So, to kick things off, I'm going to do my first giveaway in a little while.  Rather than the usual A4 print, I'm going to offer a an A3 print, and include shipping anywhere in the world.

Catching up

Well it's been quite an eventful few months but I'm finally getting back on top of things.  First of all I had a couple of big deadlines for my uni work, I was in a car accident, and then my cat had to have surgery and required quite a lot of care afterwards.  Now finally uni is done for the summer - hooray!  I didn't break anything in the car accident but it left me too sore to paint for a couple of months.  My cat seems to be on the mend too so all's well that ends well!

I've spent the last couple of weeks preparing for the local Reading Art's Week exhibition.  I was interviewed for the local paper to help promote the event which was nice.  Here you can see one my works that's in the exhibition and the newspaper article.

Having some time out was good in a way, I've had some time to think about new and different ideas for works I'd like to do.  Don't worry, I'll still be painting my most popular abstract styles but it is nice to mix things up a bit.  For example, here's a mixed-media piece I'm currently working on called, 'Sad Robot'.

Christmas order dates

It may be a good 6 weeks or so away but I thought it would be useful to share with you the dates for ordering in time for Christmas.

For paintings in stock 

Courier dates change but provisionally, I would say to order no later than the 18th of December if you need to receive the painting before Christmas.

For custom paintings

If you would like to order a custom painting in time for Christmas delivery, please aim to do so before 30 November.  If for any reason you need to order after this date, please chat with me so we can figure out if there's anything I can do.

For prints, greeting cards etc

In the UK - no later than midday on Friday 20th of December

For overseas, midday UK time as follows:

Wednesday 4 December	Asia, Far East (including Japan), New Zealand
Thursday 5 December	Australia
Friday 6 December	Africa, Caribbean, Central & South America, Middle East
Monday 9 December	Cyprus, Eastern Europe

Autumn treasury

Reading Arts Week 2013

Well what a great week it's been.  Reading Arts Week kicked off on the back of Water Fest on Saturday 15 June with the Art Village in Forbury Gardens.  Despite the rain it was really quite busy and there was a great lively atmosphere with some great music from some of the Reading College Music Tech students & bands.



Throughout the week there were some other events including a fashion show in Market Place.  Then at the end of the week we saw the kick-off of the Reading Arts Week exhibition at Reading College.  The event was combined with the Reading College end of year show with music and an art exhibition of the students' work.  There really were some great pieces and some really thought-provoking installations.  Here's one of my pieces hanging on display.

I have to say, as always the week was incredibly well-organised by the lovely Chris Brant.  The idea behind Reading Arts Week is a great one, it's really inclusive and does a great job of bringing together artists in the area as well as providing a platform for new and developing artists to show their work.  I'm already really looking forward to next year!
